Recreational trips are designed to promote a healthy, active lifestyle as well as social and educational opportunities. Participants are exposed to new experiences through visits to community events and attractions such as museums, Dave & Busters, Black Creek Pioneer Village and more. There are also opportunities for indoor and outdoor sports and fitness activities, including bowling, swimming and outdoor games.
One of DANI’s core beliefs is the promotion of inclusion and integration. We seek and encourage collaborative programs with other organizations, such as youth groups, synagogues or other community associations. Connections are created and relationships are developed while educating, raising awareness about disabilities and enjoying a fun time together.
Judaic programming is an integral part of all DANI programs. Our Sunday program incorporates educational and interactive activities corresponding to the Jewish calendar. Participants are exposed to many Jewish traditions and celebrations and experience the spirit of holidays, such as mock Passover seders, Purim carnivals, and making latkes for Chanukah. These activities give participants opportunities to learn more about their culture and actively participate in celebrating their traditions in a communal environment.
