In this capacity, the incumbent will report to the Executive Director of DANI and will play a key role in the launch of VILA. The primary responsibilities of the Director of Operation will include:
• Involvement and oversight of all aspects of VILA
• Establishing the foundations of VILA, working closely together with the Project Manager
• Researching and creating the primary building blocks of an adult learning curriculum
• Leading, collaborating, and mentoring of virtual classroom instructional staff with the goal of delivering adaptive and responsive curriculums for virtual content
• Providing guidance to a team that includes, instructors, an intake worker, a social worker, recruitment worker, administrative and IT support staff
• Developing and nurturing inter-organizational partnerships
• Leading the creation of project documentation and ensuring progress reporting is current and accurate
• Maintaining and reporting on the budget on a regular basis
• Participating in the DANI management meetings and working collaboratively with DANI managers on agency-wide projects and objectives
• Collaborating actively in academic research related to the Project
• Accountability for customer service, quality of programming and adherence to all DANI values and mission statements

• A postgraduate degree in a relevant field, such as Master of Education or Social Work
• A proven track record of curriculum development, in particular, experience adapting curriculum for adults with disabilities
• Experience in conducting academic research and creating/delivering vocation training is an asset, as is the ability to speak a second language
• At least three years of management experience with responsibility for setting objectives and guiding the performance of direct reports
• Hands-on experience in person-centred planning
• Solid working knowledge of the principles of project management
• Technical knowledge of online educational platforms
Experience in budget management
Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and nurture inter-organizational partnerships
• A results-driven professional with the ability to meet deadlines and focus on multiple priorities
• Superior oral and written communications skills
• A creative thinker who views challenges are opportunities to find alternate solutions
• Flexibility in work schedule is a must for this role, as is the ability to travel as required, within the Province of Ontario
