Our Sunday Program offers participants recreational programming that promotes a healthy, active lifestyle as well as social and educational opportunities. Participants gain exposure to new experiences through visits to community events and attractions, including museums, Dave & Busters, and Black Creek Pioneer Village. Our groups take part in indoor and outdoor sports and fitness activities, including bowling, swimming and outdoor games. In addition to community outings, we also bring the community to us with in-house interactive programs, including magicians and Creature Quest.
At DANI, one of our goals is to promote a philosophy of inclusion and integration. Our Sunday Program includes several joint programs with other organizations, such as BBYO and Beth Tzedec. Our joint programs allow us to form and strengthen relationships with other groups, while raising awareness about DANI. These joint programs allow our participants to meet others in their community and participate together in many fun activities!
Jewish Culture & Tradition
Judaic programming is an integral part of all DANI programs. Our Sunday group follows the Jewish calendar, and incorporates educational and interactive activities to expose participants to many Jewish traditions and celebrations. Our activities allow participants to experience the spirit of the holiday, such as through mock Pesach seders, Purim costumes and carnivals, and making latkes for Chanukah. These activities give participants opportunities to learn more about their culture and actively participate in celebrating and developing their own holiday traditions.
Tal oversees the staff and programming for our popular Sunday Recreation Program.
Tal’s deep commitment to developing a sustainable place within the community for the people we serve
is evident by his leadership on our DANI Housing Committee that explores future housing solutions for our participants.
